    Food is nutritive and consumed for function as a living, breathing human on this planet. It is our life-force. However our food choices, depleted physical state and poor relationship with food can hinder our optimal level of existence. Food is sustenance and has the ability to change the body, mind, and spirit for the better. Optimal nutrition actually can aid in creating joy. Learning ways to balance the body's mechanisms through macro and micro-nutrients is the key. At BHHI, our Nutritionist will educate about good quality food sources of protein/carbohydrates/fats and vitamins/minerals that will enhance healing of any medical issue. Nutritional plans will be tailored to your needs & food preferences. Often people believe good nutrition means dieting and exclusion. Perhaps, open your mind to the reverse mentality.            Katie Grubiak

               RD, CLE

         Registered Dietitian

 Katie Grubiak is a Registered Dietitian with a focus on blending Western & Eastern philosophies regarding nutritional healing. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and first pursued a career in public health surrounding herself with different cultures and a mission to honor all those seeking healthcare nutritional support. Her specialty became Maternal Child Health Nutrition with a focus on Gestational Diabetes Management & breastfeeding support as a Certified Lactation Educator (CLE). She was also a dietitian for the UCLA Arthur Ashe Student Health & Wellness Center seeing students with various medical issues. She worked closely with the UCLA Counseling and Psychological Services Center to provide treatment for students with eating disorders as well as was involved with the Health Center’s Weight Management and Diabetic Programs. She has continued to work among multi-disciplinary teams believing that holistic care means having all areas of health supported. Katie also has a professional dance background and taught for the non-profit dance school Everybody Dance in Los Angeles. She utilized nutrition and alternative medicine including Yoga to heal herself from dance injuries and spread the word to her students. Katie’s belief is that a nutritionist needs knowledge, compassion, patience, and creativity to inspire change. Each individual that enters care needs to be honored with who they are and where they want to be. There should be no limitations on their journey or their healing!
